Torenstraat 19

The facade of this 1612 National Monument conceals a Riant Monumental Mansion on the center road in the atmospheric Maas town. A characterful cobbled street named after the monumental prison tower at the beginning. It totally typifies the authentic character of this special place.

Layout:

Hall
The imposing entrance hall with its high ceiling features Portazul tiles, a ceiling ornament and panel doors leading to the toilet, living room and kitchen diner. Also in the hall you will find the upstairs entrance.

Toilet
The Portazul tiles and paneling continue into the toilet that features ornate ceramic plumbing.

Living room
Again the high beamed ceiling that is so characteristic of this monumental building.
The living room has a wooden floor made of original wide cheese boards.
For the windows are solid wood panels made to measure both to darken the windows, but also to keep the living room cool on hot summer days and in cold weather to keep the heat inside. Here you will also find the functioning fireplace with a custom-made fireplace screen.

Kitchen
From the living room there is an open passage to the cozy spacious kitchen. Again, a high beamed ceiling and wooden floor from the living room into the kitchen. Equipped with various appliances including an oven, 6 burner stove and a countertop of Belgian stone with a ceramic sink.
Adjacent is the utility room.

Utility room
In the utility room a kitchen arrangement with granite countertop. For wine lovers: an entire wall equipped with a wine cooling system made of terracotta. An ideal way to avoid temperature fluctuations of your wines.
The washer and dryer connections, sink and meter cupboard are also located in this room.
In the utility room is a storage attic finished with sliding doors, large enough for storage of your belongings.

Garden
Through the utility room is the enclosed, nicely maintained, backyard (ca.50 m2) accessible. Here you will find a wood storage for your firewood as well as a fixed barbecue/grill made of concrete. Suitable for preparing your meals all year round! A pond equipped with a modern filter and water pump system gives this garden some extra liveliness. The garden is equipped with electricity points and a water drainage point.

Shed
From the garden you reach the lockable insulated shed, made of red cedar wood and equipped with electricity/light points. With enough space to store your tools, bicycles and garden furniture. You can access the street side through the shed so easy access for bikes and trash containers, among other things.

Back to the house:

1st floor
Through the stairs in the hall you reach the second floor with a spacious, bright landing with paneling. This landing provides access to 3 rooms, bathroom and toilet. The entire upper floor has a concrete poured floor with a solid wooden floor of Robinia hardwood with an insulating carpet pad. All rooms are equipped with Velux skylights with light dimming.

Master bedroom
Spacious bright bedroom equipped with cherry wood built-in closet. Again solid wood panels custom made for the gable windows.

Bedroom/study 1
Good light also suitable as a studio.

Bedroom 2
In this room is a wardrobe made to measure. Extremely practical.

Toilet
Again paneling above a floor of original Portazul tiles and ceramic plumbing.

Bathroom
Modern bathroom with walk-in shower and floating double sink cabinet above which a heated mirror. Underfloor heating, also in the shower area, completes the whole comfortably.

2nd floor
A fixed staircase leads to a spacious attic room with wooden solid floor of American oak floorboards, equipped with a large Velux skylight with beautiful panoramic views of the monastery garden. Also here is a spacious closet / storage room containing the CV/HR setup.

The grant allows residents to partially finance maintenance, such as painting, repairing gutters and downspouts, roof repair, repairing joints, repairing window frames and repairing the foundation. Owners can apply for grants each year after the maintenance is completed. The contribution under this scheme is 38 percent of the eligible amount.
